Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid took control of their Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich with a 2-1 victory at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday. The Portuguese superstar opened the scoring in the 47th minute with a clinical finish after good work from Karim Benzema. Bayern equalized through Arturo Vidal in the 61st minute, but Ronaldo restored Real's lead just 10 minutes later with a stunning free-kick. The victory gives Real a slender advantage going into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 18.

Game Summary

Real Madrid started the game brightly and had the first chance of the match when Benzema fired wide from the edge of the area. Bayern grew into the game and started to create chances of their own, with Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller both going close. However, it was Real who took the lead just before the break when Ronaldo finished off a fine move involving Benzema and Toni Kroos. Bayern equalized in the second half through Vidal, but Ronaldo's free-kick proved to be the winning goal.
