Is It Time For Buxton To Get A Day Off

Is it Time for Buxton to Get a Day Off?

After a Hamstring Injury and Poor Offensive Performance, Should the Twins Rest Buxton?

Byron Buxton has been a key player for the Minnesota Twins since his debut in 2015. He is a five-tool player who can contribute in all aspects of the game. However, Buxton has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and he is currently dealing with a hamstring injury. He has also been in a offensive slump, batting just .200 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 35 games this season.

With the Twins struggling to stay above .500, some fans are wondering if it is time to give Buxton a day off. Buxton has played in all but one game this season, and he has been one of the team's most consistent players. However, he has also been one of the team's most injury-prone players. Buxton has missed significant time with injuries in each of the past three seasons.

The Twins have a lot of depth in the outfield, so they could afford to give Buxton a day off. Kyle Garlick, Gilberto Celestino, or Jake Cave could all fill in for Buxton in center field. Giving Buxton a day off would allow him to rest his hamstring and get his swing back on track.

It is up to the Twins' coaching staff to decide whether or not to give Buxton a day off. However, it is clear that Buxton is not 100% healthy and he is not performing at his best. A day off could be just what he needs to get back on track.
