LSU‘s Men and Women Earn Team Wins at LSU XC Invitational

Impressive Performances Highlight Tigers’ Success

**Baton Rouge, La.** – Saturday, the LSU Tigers Cross Country teams put on an exciting display of dominance at the LSU XC Invitational, securing both team titles. In a remarkable show of strength, the LSU Men's team outperformed six other teams to claim the top spot, while the Women's team overcame seven rivals to secure their victory.

Men's Race Domination

The Men's team exhibited exceptional teamwork and strategy, with four runners securing positions within the top 10. Sophomore Anthony Rodriguez crossed the finish line first with a time of 24:16.7, leading the Tigers to an average finish time of 24:37.8. Their strong performance earned them a decisive win over the second-place team, who finished with a gap of over 40 seconds.

Women's Team Triumph

The Women's team showcased their exceptional talent, with two runners finishing in the top 5. Graduate student Katherine Fazio led the charge with a third-place finish, followed by junior Grace Riley in fifth place. The team's average finish time of 18:03.9 placed them ahead of the second-place team by over 20 seconds.

Individual Standouts

In addition to the team triumphs, several individual runners showcased impressive performances. Freshman Jake Knepper secured a top-10 finish in his LSU debut, crossing the line in ninth place. Senior Maddie Sims also made a notable contribution, finishing just outside the top 10.
